Neelakshi Duwarah
Founder - Director
She started learning yoga in 2001 at the Yog-Ganga Centre for Yoga Studies, Dehradun. Between 2006 to 2009, she taught yoga to children and teenagers at Ann Mary and Welham Girls’, both of which are renowned schools in Dehradun.
Thereafter, in 2009, she relocated to her home-town Guwahati and has since then been teaching yoga to students across a wide range of age (8 to 80 years) under different forums and spaces. Along with general yoga classes, she conducts special sessions for various minor medical concerns including prenatal and postnatal conditions. She has conducted many Iyengar Yoga workshops in Guwahati and in 2019, organized one special workshop for patients with Parkinson’s Disease, under the guidance of a senior Iyengar Yoga teacher from YOG, Mumbai, Dr. Rajvi Mehta.
Her online classes have made it possible for students from different parts of India and the world to avail the teachings of yoga from the safety and convenience of their homes. Integrating the principles of yoga and ayurveda into a regular householder’s life is her constant endeavor. Sustainable living, hiking, stargazing, reading, journaling, ayurvedic cooking are her varied interests.

Deepa Shashi Kumar
A student of Neelakshi Duwarah since 2014, she took to yoga to recover from spinal issues and believes that over the years, yoga has completely transformed her outlook towards life. Delving deeper into the subject, she is now training intensively under RIMYI, Pune. She assists Neelakshi and also conducts in-person classes at YogDeepika.
She is a Computer Science Engineer with a Masters in IT Business Management and holds an industry experience of over 14 years. She loves to spend her free time reading and gardening.

Gayatri Bhuyan
Gayatri Bhuyan started her yoga journey with Neelakshi Duwarah in the year 2017 during her first pregnancy. During the extraordinary times of COVID, the realization dawned on her that yoga is the way forward. Seeking to delve deeper into the subject, she started assisting Neelakshi. She now regularly attends online classes of RIMYI. In 2022, she started teaching yoga to children, teenagers and youngsters both online and in-person, under the guidance of her teacher.
Gayatri holds a MSc in Development Studies from the University of Glasgow. A development sector professional, through the past twelve years she has worked with a number of national and international organizations on project management, grant making, research and campaigns such as Support My School. Between 2014 to 2019 she worked with UNV/UNDP in Assam for a project focusing on youth.
Post the pandemic, she has been focusing on running her family farm , reconnecting with nature and changing her daily lifestyle choices in order to live a more intentional life.

Brajen Saikia
Brajen supports and assists the teachers particularly in the medical classes and looks after the logistic concerns of YogDeepika Centre for Yoga Studies.He has been studying yoga in the Iyengar tradition with Neelakshi and Deepa since 2018 and is a devoted practitioner of the subject.
He has more than fifteen years of experience in handling administrative functions at medical and health care establishments. Brajen has a natural orientation towards organic farming.
